INDUCTIVELY
COUPLED PLASMA (ICP) - Determination of wear and additive
elements to assist with additive depletion and suspended wear
elements up to 8 micron in size.
X-RAY
FLUORESCENCE (XRF) - A non-destructive analysis for determining
elements found in liquids, solids and residues to aid in additive
depletion, problem solving and preventive maintenance.
FERROGRAPHY
- Analysis of debris in sample to determine the wear mode
of equipment as well as predictive technique for possible
failure. A Ferrogram, which is a picture at 200x magnification
of the debris collected on a slide, includes comments of the
types of debris found in the sample up to 1000x magnification.
Because we have analyzed over 11,000 Ferrograms on used and
new products, we have the experience necessary for meaningful
interpretations of the debris.
HIAC
AUTOMATIC PARTICLE COUNTER - Determination of contaminants
between 5 and >100 microns in size classified according
to Cincinnati Milacron, NAS, SAE and ISO classification charts.
This assists with filter care, integrity of filters, verification
of cleanliness specifications, etc.
CORROSION
TEST PROCEDURES - EL's lab has many methods for corrosion
testing of oils and aqueous products on aluminum, copper,
cast iron, carbide/ cobalt, steel, bronze, etc.
EXTREME
PRESSURE & WEAR TESTING - Equipment includes Falex
and Shell 4-Ball.
GAS
CHROMATOGRAPHY & INFRARED - Techniques for fingerprinting
and determinations of additive depletion, oxidation, diesel
fuel dilution, qualitative and quantitative analyses.
UNIVERSAL
OXIDATION TESTER developed by Amoco... and more!
